Those dreams and determination ventually grew and in 1993 Hecho a Mano was founded. Opening its first store on San Francisco Street at Old San Juan.

A natural style elaborated with organic materials is what gives Hecho a Mano the eco-chic look that sets us apart, while keeping in harmony with the ecosystem.
New trends are mixed with unique styles and exclusive prints designed directly by the company. These designs are then hand crafted at workshops by artisans in places like Indonesia.
Hecho a Mano strongly believes in fair trade and only sponsors handcraft workshops with good and favorable working conditions. We do not approve of children exploitation and therefore do not endorse handcraft workshops that employs children. We do however endorse and sponsor handcraft workshops managed by women.
